It's a common scene to pop up during the winter months. At least for those who watches and appreciates mother nature's amazing works and show...
What a beautiful crisp and clear first morning of the year 2013 over Pacific Northwest.
This may be little bit late but I want to wish you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year! May this year will bring you good health, fulfillment and success to all your goals in life!
It is that time of the year once again - when days are shorter and colder...the crappy weather just slows down photography endeavors-for me, how 'bout you?
While it is known that during the cold months, some very interesting early or late good lights will pop up here and there, getting from one place to the other can be a little bit trickier! Inclement weather, road closures and some other weather related events.
Well, being a weekend photographer, there's only like two-day window to try my luck out there. Watching the weather forecast may help sometimes to be in the right place at the right time to get a chance for that rare good light. That is if the light shows up.
Anyway, here are few shots I managed to take around the neighborhood just recently! Click the image or the title to view the larger version.
The Pacific Northwest icon, Space Needle, ready and dressed in holiday style. Shot during a nice evening at Lower Queen Anne, Kerry Park, Seattle, Washington.
Despite the stormy weather forecast that weekend morning, I went for walk at the Alki waterfront located at West Seattle to see what the weather could bring. With not much hope for a good light, I set up and started shooting towards downtown Seattle when I noticed the rising sun started to put some colors on the clouds. To my surprise when I looked over my shoulder, the Olympic mountain peaks was aglow from the morning sun which was, literally, behind the clouds to the east. The "light" stayed for awhile and slowly faded...Not too bad for a stormy morning!
Early morning sun turned this roadside grass golden and the Space Needle in the background.
Puget sound at early morning from Alki shore. The snow-peak mountains of the Olympic seen on the backdrop.
On a blue-grey and cold Pacific Northwest morning. Seen here is the Sound back dropped by the snow-caped Olympics peaks.
More recent Seattle images can be viewed inside my Seattle gallery. Once again and as always, many thanks for stopping by!

As you may have come to know, my focus is on photography of the natural environment [with especial interest on landscapes] local to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Please take a stroll around. You might find something interesting. A few thoughts in the blog's comment area won't hurt. Your feedback or comments are much appreciated. I'll try all my best to respond whenever I possibly can. Leave your name-some finger|foot prints around - share a link to your work and|or own blog should be wonderful as well.
